History of the School
From Humble Beginnings to Academic Distinction
Founded in 2009, Raymond Mhlaba School of Specialisation has grown from a secondary school into a beacon of excellence in Mathematics, Science, and ICT. Nestled in Tshepisong, we serve our community with pride, inspiring students to embrace new challenges and excel. From Grade 8 to Grade 12, our structured programs guide learners to excel, with subjects designed to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Our school is designed to enhance learning through modern facilities, including advanced science labs, smart classrooms, and ICT labs. These resources provide a stimulating environment where students are inspired to explore, innovate, and succeed
With a strong emphasis on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), we empower students with the skills needed for high-demand careers. Our specialised curriculum in Math, Science, and ICT prepares students for the challenges of tomorrow’s digital landscape. Over the years, our students have achieved a remarkable pass rate with a high percentage of bachelor’s passes, setting them on paths to higher education and success.

Raymond Mhlaba Maths, Science and ICT School of Specialisation with a focus of mining welcomes you since its inception, The School has a proud history of excellent results since its first Grade 12 cohort in 2012. The School has achieved 100% in 2012,2013,2016,2018 & 2023. The School has achieved a pass rate of more than 96%.
Raymond Mhlaba, which has been a secondary high school since 2009, was established as a School of Specialisation on October 12, 2023, with a focus on mining and a specialisation in math, science, and ICT. As a result, The School is dedicated to teaching and motivating the upcoming generation of engineers and technicians. Our goal is to not only give our students the skills and knowledge they need but also to ignite in them a passion for sustainability and innovation that will motivate them to change the world.
The School is enthusiastic about the opportunities that lie ahead as we look to the future. We see our school as the new testing ground for aspiring scientists, a place that fosters creativity and innovation and where students may acquire the skills necessary to thrive in this rapidly changing and developing world. With the help of technology partners and sponsors, we will establish specialized programs that will give our students the credentials they need to get jobs in the future. Both our nation and the continent will gain a great deal from the school.
